Who we are

The St Charbel center, Sister Marie Abel Foundation was created in 1990 by a committee of friends and managed by the Sisters of St Cœurs, according to the most ardent wish of Sister Marie Abel Qamari whose miracle of her healing was retained as proof of legitimacy by the Vatican for the beatification of St Charbel.

Mission

To welcome children from 4 to 15 years old of all religions, orphans, from disadvantaged families, with serious social problems, with the aim of ensuring them moral and physical security, regular schooling and accommodation adapted to their needs.

The children are cared for by social workers who will allow them to grow and flourish in a healthy, family environment.

Our Comunity

We are currently in charge of 52 children educated through us in private schools. Seven of them, for lack of space, continue to be accommodated by their families to whom we regularly provide food parcels.

14 people are invested in the center to guarantee the children an educational, psychosocial and emotional follow-up. A qualified psychologist and specialized monitors are available to deal with psychological problems if necessary.
